American Forests is hiring two (2) Southern Sierra Reforestation Technicians with a start date of early March 2026!
These positions will directly increase the pace and scale of post-fire reforestation and restoration efforts across in the Southern Sierra landscape through supporting seedling planting, herbicide, surveying, and cone collection projects. As a part of the So Sierra reforestation team, they will work with federal, state, tribal, private and non-profit partners through cross-boundary, climate-informed reforestation projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in forestry and natural resources while implementing innovative forest health and post-fire recovery projects. TreePeople is hiring a Forester/Senior Program Manager of Conservation for its reforestation projects in the San Bernardino National Forest
The role will help design, implement and oversee reforestation and forest health programs in Southern California in cooperation with federal, state and local government agencies, non-profit organizations, conservancies and RCDs, private landowners, tribes, contractors and grantors. Projects to include post-fire activities such as hazard tree removal, site preparation, fuels modification, tree planting, release and other related work. New Resource! Climate-informed Reforestation Guidance for California Forests
The CA Climate-Informed Reforestation Guidance Booklets provide regionally specific recommendations for site preparation, planting, and post-planting management actions that can help establish forests resilient to climate change and wildfires. These guides are the result of the Climate-Informed Reforestation Workshop, organized by the USDA California Climate Hub and funded by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
